Job summary

GreenSight is seeking a hands-on Electromechanical Engineer to lead the system architecture, mechanical design, and validation of hybrid‑electric power and propulsion systems for our robotics portfolio (flying, driving, swimming, orbiting). You will balance trade-offs among battery capacity, weight, energy density, and payload while enabling physical design and lab bring-up of motors and drives.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Systems, Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering with 3+ years of hardware experience.
• Experience modeling system-level trade-offs (energy storage density, battery sizing vs payload, duty cycles).
• Proficiency in 3D CAD (SolidWorks or equivalent) for physical machine design.
• Hands-on experience with engineering simulation software (Altair Flux, ANSYS, MATLAB/Simulink).
• Practical experience assembling, wiring, instrumenting, and troubleshooting motor/drive hardware on a test bench.

Responsibilities

• Conduct system-level trade studies to evaluate powertrain topologies and sizing against mass, range, and payload limits.
• Create 3D CAD models for motors, mechanisms, and energy systems.
• Perform FEM/thermal/structural simulations to optimize efficiency and sizing.
• Wire, tune, and test BLDC/PMSM motor drives and energy management controls on test benches.
• Instrument test rigs and validate performance against system models.
