REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE: High School or equivalent and related experience required. EKG certified preferred.

JOB SUMMARY: Electrocardiograph Technician provides technical skills in obtaining electrocardiograph tracing, routine exercise stress testing, exercise stress testing with nuclear medicine, Holter/Event Monitor application and scanning of hospital and clinical patients.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Prepares appropriate equipment and instruct patients on procedures.
• Traces 12 lead EKG and transmitting to the system.
• Enters patient information, as well as edits of electrocardiogram into the system.
• Interprets EKG rhythms and reports significant changes immediately to the appropriate medical personnel.
• Hooks up Holter monitor for patients, and obtains scan reports.
• Cleans of all equipment after each use and makes sure accessory items are properly stored.
• Participates in team setting to do nuclear medicine pharmacology tests and treadmill exercise tests.
• Prepares paperwork and traces EKG’s during nuclear procedures.
• Transmits final paperwork to the appropriate department.
• Hooks up event monitors and prepares paperwork.
• Performs routine maintenance work on equipment for proper operation.
• Adheres to internal controls established for department.
• Performs related duties required.
