Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a highly motivated Test Engineer in Carlsbad, CA to design, develop, and support automated test fixtures and validation equipment used in product development and manufacturing. The role blends mechanical design with electrical hardware integration and software development, with a focus on LabVIEW for test control and data acquisition.

You will create detailed SolidWorks drawings, integrate sensors and actuators, troubleshoot wiring harnesses, and work with NI hardware

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electro-Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience designing electro-mechanical test fixtures or automated test systems.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks for mechanical design, assemblies, and drawings.
• Experience developing and maintaining LabVIEW applications for automation and test control.
• Knowledge of electrical hardware integration, controls, instrumentation, and DAQ systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and support automated test fixtures and validation equipment used in product development, manufacturing, and reliability testing.
• Integrate electrical components and sensors into robust test solutions; troubleshoot wiring harnesses and control systems.
• Perform design reviews, tolerance analyses, and root-cause investigations to ensure fixture performance.
• Generate and maintain technical documentation including specifications, procedures, and validation reports.
• Collaborate with Product Development, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and Test Engineering to drive continuous improvement and reduced test time.
