Job summary

Textron Systems in Kentucky is seeking an Electro-Mechanical Technician to build and troubleshoot electro-mechanical assemblies and cable harnesses in prototype and production environments. You will interpret complex data packages, assemble components, and ensure quality using IPC standards where applicable.

The role requires hands-on fabrication, the ability to read wiring diagrams and schematics, plus experience with crimping tools and test equipment. A security clearance may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years electro-mechanical or cable/harness experience in aerospace/defense.
• Experience reading complex drawings, schematics and process docs.
• Can obtain IPC/WHMA-A-620, IPC-A-610 and IPC J-STD-001 certifications.
• Familiarity with military and commercial quality specs is a plus.
• Proficient with crimp tools, testers, and assembly tools.
• Strong problem-solving and detail-oriented approach.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work independently.
• Basic computer skills (MS Office).
• Ability to obtain a security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Build simple to complex electro-mechanical assemblies and cable harnesses from drawings.
• Assemble electronic components into larger systems.
• Fabricate, shield, splice, terminate, and install connectors.
• Perform crimping with various tools and termination tooling.
• Use hand tools for assembly and soldering operations.
• Build and test wire harnesses and electronic assemblies.
• Adhere to ESD, calibration, shelf life and safety procedures.
• Operate assembly equipment and verify build quality via self-inspection.
• Assist in transitioning new products to manufacturing.
