Job summary

Applied Materials in Austin, TX is seeking a hands-on electro-mechanical technician to perform routine to moderately complex functions, including design, test, fabrication, modification and troubleshooting of electronics and electro-mechanical systems.

You will work from schematics and layouts, document procedures, and help maintain safety standards in a dynamic production environment, with potential clean-room PPE requirements and opportunities for process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine to moderately complex electro-mechanical functions such as design, test, checkout, fabrication, modification, troubleshooting and assembly.
• Tests and troubleshoots system- and component-level issues in electrical and mechanical systems.
• Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or plans to perform routine testing and troubleshooting.
• Compiles logbooks and test procedures documentation utilizing good writing skills.
• May perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic & vacuum and process testing on AMAT platforms to engineering and manufacturing documentation and specifications.
• Observes all safety standards and maintains a secure, safe, clean and healthy work environment.
• Assists in the correction of problems and may perform rework as a result of testing.
• Working in a clean room may require PPE such as coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses, gloves, respirators, chemical aprons, and face shields.
