Job summary

Applied Materials, Inc. in Austin, TX, is seeking a hands-on electro-mechanical technician to perform routine to moderately complex functions on electronics and systems.

You will work from schematics, perform testing, calibration, modification, and assembly, and support new system installations. This full-time role requires adherence to safety standards, physical stamina, and the ability to operate power tools and equipment.

Qualifications

• Performs routine to moderate electro-mechanical functions including design, test, fabrication, troubleshooting and assembly.
• May perform rework as a result of testing.
• Observes all safety standards and maintains a safe, clean work environment.
• May perform tests on AMAT platforms per Engineering and Manufacturing specs.
• Requires ability to work with power tools and heavy machinery.

Responsibilities

• Performs electro-mechanical design, test, fabrication, troubleshooting and assembly.
• May test and troubleshoot system level and component level problems in electrical and mechanical systems and sub-systems.
• May perform new system and NPI installations and field upgrades.
• Works from schematics and diagrams to perform testing and troubleshooting.
• Compiles logbooks and test procedures documentation.
• Observes safety standards and maintains safe work environment.
• Follows safety policies and reports hazards.
