Job summary

SAIC is seeking an Engineering (mechanical assembly and testing) Technician to inspect, upgrade, repair and maintain electro-mechanical equipment. The role requires following procedures and Navy-maintained guidelines, and involves disassembly, inspection, testing, re-assembly, and packing.

Work entails a 40-hour week (Mon-Fri), with no weekends or overtime. Candidates should have AA or HS with related experience, basic hand tools, and the ability to obtain/maintain a secret clearance.

Qualifications

• AA degree or HS diploma with up to 2 years of related experience in assembly/testing.
• Experience with basic hand tools and air-powered/battery-powered tools.
• Basic computer skills.
• Must be able to lift 30 pounds and work at a bench.
• Must pass basic background check and obtain/maintain secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble equipment per procedures and drawings.
• Inspect, evaluate, and clean sub-components.
• Perform electrical and mechanical testing of equipment/sub-components.
• Re-assemble equipment.
• Prepare and pack equipment into wood shipping crates.
