Matec Instrument Companies, Inc. in Northborough, MA is seeking a hands-on Electro-mechanical Technician (Electrical) to join the team building large, custom ultrasonic testing machines used in real-world industrial applications.

You will wire control panels, read schematics, and work from BOMs to assemble and bring machines online. This role offers non-repetitive, custom builds in a clean, well-organized manufacturing environment with opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Experience as an Electrical Technician, Panel Builder, or Electro-mechanical Tech.
• Strong ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Experience with control panel wiring and industrial components.
• Comfortable working in a manufacturing / machine build environment.
• Hands-on with tools and electrical testing equipment.
• Detail-oriented with a precision mindset.
• Problem-solver who enjoys figuring things out.

Responsibilities

• Wire electrical panels and machine components (point-to-point wiring)
• Install and mount components such as relays, contactors, breakers, terminals, and drives
• Work from electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and BOMs
• Assist in debugging, testing, and bringing machines online
• Collaborate with mechanical and controls engineers to ensure proper functionality
• Perform non-repetitive, custom builds (no assembly line work)
• Use test equipment to verify system performance and troubleshoot issues
• Support machine builds from start to finish
