Job summary

Dematic is seeking an Electro-Mechanical Technician Level 3 for the Chanel site in New Jersey. The role covers day-to-day troubleshooting and preventative maintenance on material handling equipment, with overtime and weekend shifts possible.

Shift is Mon-Thu 2:30pm–11pm and Fri 12:30pm–9pm. Responsibilities include repairing MHE, completing PM routines, troubleshooting with electrical test equipment, and generating work orders with detailed data.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree or vocational technical training preferred.
• Specialized skill training/certification preferred.
• 2-3 years of troubleshooting electro-mechanical equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

Job Title

The Electro-Mechanical Technician Level 3 is responsible for the day-to-day troubleshooting and preventative/predictive maintenance. Acts as a material handling technician on all equipment that is installed at the Chanel site. Overtime and occasional weekend work may be required. Shift schedule is Monday - Thursday 2:30 pm - 11 pm and Friday: 12:30 pm to 9 pm. Some weekends and overtime as required to meet onsite operational needs.

Compensation

The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $30 to $32.00 an hour at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills.

What You Will Do In This Role

• Repair and maintenance of Material Handling Equipment (MHE) including belt tracking, component adjustment/replacement, component lubrication, etc.


• Complete preventative maintenance routines, documentation, and procedures.


• Use electrical test equipment to troubleshoot electrical circuitry.


• Create and close work orders into asset management system with appropriate data to include labor hours, equipment maintenance, and parts used.


• Troubleshoot semi-complex problems and understand resources needed to resolve them.


• Locate and track spare parts from inventory.


• Performs routine maintenance and equipment testing to ensure they meet specifications.


• Respond to service calls and correct equipment failures and faults.


• Identify problems as they occur and take appropriate steps to solve them.


• Develop and maintain positive working relationships across all levels of the organizations.

What We Are Looking For

• High School diploma or equivalent required.


• Typically, an associate degree or vocational technical training is preferred.


• Specialized skill training/certification preferred.


• 2-3 years of troubleshooting electro-mechanical equipment preferred.


• Proven experience in area of responsibility and successful demonstration of position and key responsibilities as presented above.


• Able to lift and move material up to 50 pounds each.


• Regular bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching both below the waist and above the head.


• Occasionally push and pull wheeled dollies loaded with products up to 100 pounds.


• Able to climb ladders and gangways safely and without limitation.


• Working conditions may include small spaces, dust, fumes/odors, hot/cold temperatures, inside/outside noise, vibration, standing on concrete for long hours and wet or uneven surfaces. Must be able to stand/walk for up to 10-12 hours.


• Flexibility in covering multiple shifts and holiday hours as required.
