Job summary

Johnsonville in Watertown, WI is seeking a Maintenance/Reliability Technician to keep our production lines and refrigeration systems running at peak efficiency. You will apply RCM techniques, troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues, and work with engineers on upgrades to support scalable growth.

The position operates 2:00pm–10:30pm, Monday through Friday with overtime as needed. A background in industrial maintenance, ammonia refrigeration and PLCs is valued; strong safety, communication

Qualifications

• Industrial maintenance experience is required.
• Experience with ammonia refrigeration is a plus.
• Electrical basics required; PLC knowledge a plus; willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Apply RCM techniques to improve production equipment performance.
• Perform maintenance of utility equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems on production and utility equipment; apply RCA techniques to prevent recurrence.
• Work on projects (machining, fabrication, capital projects; coordinate with outside vendors).
• Assist with data collection to develop preventative maintenance information for SAP.

Position Facility: Watertown

We can’t do what we do best — make great-tasting sausage products — unless our equipment is reliably running at its best. Members of our maintenance team keep our machines, lines and facilities running. You and your teammates will be responsible for all production and industrial refrigeration equipment, as well as our electrical controls systems. You’ll also work closely with our engineers and production members to make important upgrades to our production machinery, as we innovate and grow the business.

Position Overview

Pay Range: $33.07/hr - $45.34/hr + $1.50 Shift Premium

Hours: 2:00pm – 10:30pm, Monday – Friday (Overtime as production demands).

You will be directly involved in the Reliability and Maintenance of the equipment and processes we use to produce our great tasting sausage. This position will not only be involved in maintaining current equipment, but it will allow you to apply Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) techniques and concepts on our way to helping Johnsonville become the \"Best Company in the World.\"

Responsibilities

• Apply RCM techniques to improve the performance of a variety of production equipment


• Perform maintenance of utility equipment


• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems on various production and utility equipment and apply RCA techniques to improve and eliminate future problems


• Work on projects (i.e. machining, fabrication, Capital projects and working with outside vendors)


• Help gather information to create technical equipment data for development of preventative maintenance information for SAP


• Assist with new equipment installation and/or equipment relocation


• Maintain facilities and equipment to meet Johnsonville, OSHA and U.S.D.A. standards


• Be part of teams that implement ideas to improve uptime of plant equipment through equipment modifications, layout adjustments, and general machine maintenance


• Preventive maintenance of all plant equipment


• Maintain/monitor inventory system for plant and utility equipment


• Improve uptime on plant equipment through machine modification, layout adjustments, and general machine maintenance


• Maintain all utility areas in a neat/orderly fashion


• Ability to perform responsibilities in a safe and efficient manner

Experience

• Industrial maintenance experience is required


• Experience in ammonia refrigeration, heating, ventilation and air conditioning and steam generation (boiler), is a plus


• Basic Electrical experience/understanding is required (PLCs are a plus.) –Willingness to learn is essential

Skills

• Strong written and verbal communication skills required


• Basic computer skills required


• Member must be highly motivated with high expectations


• Based on business necessity, must be proficient in English.

Physical Demands

• Must be able to lift, carry and hand grip up to 65 lbs, and pull up to 20 lbs


• Walking and/or Standing throughout the shift


• Bending and/or Reaching throughout the shift

Other Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old


• Ability to pass a pre-employment, post offer drug screen, physical and background check
