Hands‑on experience using hand tools, power tools, electrical tools, and basic machine shop equipment.
Troubleshooting skills for both electrical and mechanical issues on custom automation projects.
Capability to work independently and take projects from start to finish with minimal supervision.
Comfort working in a manufacturing and engineering shop environment with frequent standing, walking, lifting, bending, and troubleshooting.
Willingness and ability to continue in the role when the facility relocates to Franklin by 2027.
Industrial automation experience.
Machine building experience, particularly with custom automation systems.
Controls experience and exposure to PLCs.
Experience using an oscilloscope for testing and diagnostics.
Proficiency with multi‑meter testing for electrical verification and troubleshooting.
Experience working with aluminum extrusion in assembly or service contexts.
Electrician license.
Trade school education or equivalent technical training related to electrical, mechanical, or automation disciplines.
Employees work on a wide variety of projects rather than repetitive assembly, gaining exposure to modern automation technologies and a mix of electrical and mechanical work. The role offers the opportunity to build complex systems from start to finish, fostering strong skill development in automation and controls. Team members benefit from a stable manufacturing and engineering environment that encourages independence, ownership of projects, and continuous technical growth.
The role is based in a manufacturing and engineering shop environment with assembly bays and a production floor. The work involves electrical panel construction and mechanical assembly of automation equipment in a clean but industrial setting. Technicians frequently stand, walk, lift, bend, and troubleshoot throughout the day while using hand tools, power tools, electrical tools, and machine shop equipment. The standard shift runs from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The company will move operations to a facility in Franklin (in the former I‑Automation building) by 2027, and the position will transition to that location at that time.
