Job summary

NSI Industries in Norridge, IL is seeking an Electro-Mechanical Technician for the 1st shift (7:00 am – 3:30 pm, Monday–Friday). You will perform preventative maintenance on equipment, troubleshoot electrical and hydraulic systems, and work on new installations to minimize downtime.

The role requires at least 2 years of electro-mechanical experience, electrical knowledge, and familiarity with reading blueprints.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience as Electro-Mechanical Technician
  • Electrical experience required
  • Associate degree in Electronics is a plus
  • Experience using hand tools, small power tools, shop machines and heavy equipment
  • Chiller knowledge and HVAC knowledge are preferred

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot 3 phase electrical systems and resistive heating circuits
  • Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits using testing devices
  • Install and mount electronic controls, device panels, sensors, and components
  • Replace and wire electronic components as needed
  • Read blueprints to determine how electrical equipment should function
  • Troubleshoot hydraulic issues on production equipment
  • Use machine information to troubleshoot problems
  • Collaborate with production staff to identify causes of failure and corrective actions
  • Replace pumps, motors, and gear boxes
  • Replace shot end components, goosenecks, plungers, rings as needed
  • Troubleshoot chiller issues and hydraulic/electrical/robotic systems
  • Read blueprints for mechanical equipment functionality
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Plant Engineering Manager

General Summary

Accountable for completing assigned preventative maintenance on equipment, troubleshooting and repairing equipment to ensure minimal loss of production and downtime, and working on projects and new installations as required.

Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot 3 phase electrical systems and resistive heating circuits
  • Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures using testing devices
  • Install and mount electronic controls, device panels, sensors, and components
  • Replace and wire electronic components as needed
  • Read blueprints to determine how electrical equipment should function
  • Troubleshoot hydraulic issues on production equipment
  • Utilize machine information to troubleshoot problems
  • Work with production personnel to understand equipment failure and determine the best course of action to correct the issue(s)
  • Replace pumps, motors, and gear boxes
  • Replace shot end components, goosenecks, plungers, rings as needed
  • Troubleshoot chiller and identify issues
  • Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical and robotic systems
  • Read blueprints to determine how mechanical equipment should function
  • Other duties as assigned by Plant Engineering Manager
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Electro-Mechanical Technician
  • Previous electrical experience
  • Associate’s degree in Electronics a plus
  • Experience using hand tools, small power tools, shop machines and heavy equipment
  • Chiller knowledge
  • HVAC knowledge

Salary Range: $29.00 - $36.00/hr.
