Job summary

NSI Industries, LLC is seeking a Quality Inspector at our Norridge, IL location. This full-time, 1st shift role (7am - 3:30pm, Monday - Friday) focuses on ensuring overall part quality meets customer specifications in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities include reviewing blueprints, inspecting material per the Control Plan, recording results, and stopping production when non-conformities arise.

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of blueprints.
• Basic math skills.
• Proficiency in reading and writing.
• Proficient use of measuring/inspection equipment (micrometers, calipers, indicators).
• Must work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and stand on concrete floors for long hours.

Responsibilities

• Inspect assigned material per Control Plan.
• Identify non-conforming material.
• Complete all in-process inspection records.
• Approve in-process production by confirming specs and conducting tests.
• Accept/reject production material.
• Stop production when non-conformity is detected.
• Provide quality instructions to operators.
• Document inspection results and logs.
• Complete First-piece Setup Inspection Report.
• Follow up on repair tags.
• Prepare quality documents.
• Report quality concerns.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

We are looking for a Quality Inspector to join the team at our Norridge, IL location. General Summary

Accountable for making sure that the overall part quality meets customer specification.

Responsibilities

• Inspect assigned material per Control Plan
• Identify non-conforming material
• Complete all in-process inspection records
• Approve in-process production by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and communicating required adjustments
• Accept/reject production material
• Stop production when non-conformity has been detected
• Provide quality instructions to operators
• Document inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarizing re-work and waste; inputting data into database
• Complete First-piece Set-up Inspection Report
• Follow up on repair tags
• Prepare various quality documents
• Report quality concerns
• Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Basic understanding of blueprints
• Basic math skills
• Proficiency in reading and writing
• Proficient use of measuring/inspection equipment i.e. micrometers, calipers, indicators etc.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs. regularly, have adequate manual dexterity, be able to walk and stand for continuous hours on concrete floors and work at a computer station

Salary Range: $22.00 - $26.00/hr.
