Job summary

Actalent is seeking an Electro-Mechanical Assembly Technician for our Springfield, VA site. You will assemble, wire, and test electronic boards and electro-mechanical systems in a production environment, following wiring diagrams and schematics.

The role emphasizes quality, safety, and adherence to procedures while collaborating with engineers and operations staff. The position is onsite, with standard hours Monday–Friday, and a contract-to-hire pathway.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical certification in electrical/mechanical disciplines.
• Experience interpreting blueprints, wiring diagrams and schematics for assembly.
• Experience basic electrical troubleshooting on circuit boards and wiring.
• Experience basic mechanical troubleshooting on assemblies and equipment.
• Hands-on troubleshooting and repair in a production/manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with hand tools used for electrical/mechanical assembly, including crimping tools.
• Ability to read technical docs and apply to assembly work.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Good communication and teamwork to support production goals.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, integrate, and test electronic boards, systems, and harnesses.
• Perform electrical and mechanical assembly following procedures and standards.
• Wire boxes and electro-mechanical assemblies per diagrams and schematics.
• Interpret blueprints and schematics to correctly connect components.
• Use hand tools and equipment to assemble, crimp, and secure parts.
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues on assemblies and systems.
• Repair a wide range of problems in current product line and machinery.
• Conduct functional tests to verify performance and reliability.
• Follow documented procedures to ensure safety and quality.
• Collaborate with operations, engineers, and technicians to meet production goals.
• Document assembly work and changes as required.
• Suggest improvements to assembly processes and test methods.
