Job summary

Aspire Bakeries in Swedesboro, NJ is seeking an Electro-Mechanical Technician to maintain electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical control systems on the plant floor. You will ensure production schedules are met and equipment reliability is optimized while adhering to safety and GMP standards.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; AS/AAS in Electrical/Electronic Engineering preferred.
  • Experience installing and maintaining machine electrical control systems.
  • Ability to read electrical, mechanical and control system documentation.
  • Strong troubleshooting for electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
  • Safety-conscious in production and downtime.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain documentation for electrical and control systems.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and control failures to minimize downtime.
  • Train and coordinate Electro-Mechanics across shifts.
  • Perform preventive, scheduled, and corrective maintenance.
  • Maintain plant support systems (steam, water, air, refrigeration, HVAC, emissions).
  • Ensure safety, GMP, and regulatory compliance.
  • Document work according to work orders.

About The Role

We are seeking an Electro-Mechanic Technician to join our team at our Swedesboro, NJ bakery. As an Electro-Mechanical Technician, you will be accountable for maintaining all plant and production electrical and control systems—including electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical, and network sub-systems—while ensuring production schedules are met and equipment reliability is optimized.

Shift & Schedule
  • Shift: 2nd
  • Hours: 1:30 PM – 10 PM
  • Weekend Availability: Required
Compensation
  • Hourly Rate: $40–$41 ($1.50/hour shift differential)
Core Accountabilities (What You’ll Be Doing)
  • Maintain and update documentation for all electrical and control systems, including hardware and software.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical and control-related failures to minimize downtime.
  • Train and coordinate activities of Electro-Mechanics across shifts to ensure consistent maintenance practices.
  • Perform preventive, scheduled, and corrective repairs on production equipment and control systems.
  • Maintain secondary plant systems such as steam, water, air, refrigeration, HVAC, and emissions control.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, GMP, and regulatory standards during all maintenance activities.
  • Document maintenance work accurately in accordance with work orders and company procedures.
Minimum Qualifications (What You Bring To The Table)
  • High school diploma or equivalent; AS/AAS in Electrical/Electronic Engineering preferred.
  • Practical experience in machine and electrical control system installation and maintenance.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical, mechanical, and control system documentation.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to work safely during production and downtime periods.
  • Basic math and measurement conversion skills.
Preferred Qualifications (Extra Ingredients For Success)
  • Experience with Rockwell, Siemens, and Mitsubishi software.
  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance software and control system programming.
  • Familiarity with P&ID, electrical single-line diagrams, and instrument loop drawings.
  • Advanced troubleshooting and configuration skills for AC/DC and servo drives.
  • Previous experience in a food manufacturing or industrial environment.
