Job summary

Matec Instrument Companies, Inc. is seeking a hands-on Electrical Technician/Panel Builder to help build large, custom ultrasonic testing machines in a manufacturing environment. You will wire panels, read schematics, install relays and drives, and collaborate with engineers to bring machines online.

This role offers a non-repetitive, growth-oriented path with opportunities to advance into more complex electrical or controls work, all within a clean, professional shop setting.

Qualifications

• Experience as Electrical Technician, Panel Builder, or Electro-mechanical Tech.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Experience with control panel wiring and industrial components.

Responsibilities

• Wire electrical panels and machine components (point-to-point wiring).
• Install and mount relays, contactors, breakers, terminals, and drives.
• Work from electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and BOMs.
• Assist in debugging, testing, and bringing machines online.
• Collaborate with mechanical and controls engineers to ensure proper functionality.
• Perform non-repetitive, custom builds (no assembly line work).
• Use test equipment to verify system performance and troubleshoot issues.
• Support machine builds from start to finish.
