Job summary

Pacur in Oshkosh, WI, is seeking a Maintenance Technician for the Monday–Thursday night shift (3:00 PM–1:00 AM) to maintain extrusion, packaging and distribution equipment through preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance. You will ensure safety, troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems and work with PLCs.

A strong candidate has a HS diploma or equivalent, an apprenticeship or related degree, Journeyman Card, NFPA 70E experience, and solid schematics-reading skills.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Journeyman Card required (electrical/millwright).
  • Apprenticeship or related Associate’s degree or military training.
  • NFPA 70E electrical safety experience.
  • Ability to read mechanical/electrical/hydraulic schematics.
  • Team player with strong problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Install and repair drives, motors, PLCs.
  • Perform root cause analysis to prevent repeat failures.
  • Support equipment installation and commissioning.
  • Record maintenance activities and materials used.

Job description

As the Maintenance Technician on the weekday night shift, you will be the primary person responsible for maintaining equipment associated with our plastic extrusion production, packaging and distribution through preventative, predictive and corrective maintenance.Shift: Monday to Thursday, 3:00PM to 1:00AM.What you will do:Practice safety at all times in compliance with Pacur's policies and proceduresInstall, maintain, troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic systems and equipmentInstall, maintain and troubleshoot AC and DC drives and motorsTroubleshoot PLC programsEffectively troubleshoot and maintain temperature and pressure control systemsWelding, machining and fabricating as neededConduct root cause analysis to ensure corrective actions are appropriate and reduce the risk of repeat failuresSupport building and grounds maintenance activitiesCommunicate effectively with operations team members to identify and resolve equipment failures or inefficienciesEffectively share information with maintenance team members on other shiftsRecord maintenance services performed as well as materials used during the repairsWhat are the education and skill requirements?High School diploma or GEDCompleted a Mechanical/Electrician Apprenticeship Program or a related Associates Degree or equivalent military education/trainingJourneyman Card is required - electrical and/or millwrightExperience in performing electrical work in compliance with NFPA 70EAbility to read and understand mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic schematicsAbility to collaboratively in a team environmentStrong problem solving and decision-making skillsWhat are the physical requirements?Ability to regularly lift 50 pounds without assistanceAbility to walk, stand, bend, squat, climb ladders and stairsAbility to work at heights and in confined spacesAbility to work outdoors based on project requirementsYou should be proficient in:Mechanical Troubleshooting SkillsJourneyman’s LicenseElectrical TroubleshootingElectrical RepairPneumatics TroubleshootingIndustrial Electrical ExperienceEquipment Diagnostics & TroubleshootingMechanical Systems & Component RepairLockout/Tagout (LOTO)Electrical Schematic ReadingEquipment Repair & MaintenanceEquipment InstallationMachines & technologies you'll use:MIG WelderTIG WelderWrapping MachinesLiquid Fill Pumps and EquipmentIndustrial ControlsExtrusion MachineOverhead CraneSlitter MachineProgrammable Logic Controller (PLC) (Allen Bradley, Siemens, Beckoff)Conveyor SystemsID Grinder Machine
