The position is on-site with a Monday–Friday schedule and a contract-to-hire path. Candidates should have an associate degree or related certificate and hands-on manufacturing experience; IPC/J-STD certifications are a plus.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s Degree or postsecondary certificate in electromechanical technology or related field required; commensurate experience may be considered.
  • Hands-on experience through apprenticeships, internships, or prior work in a manufacturing environment highly valued.
  • Strong technical and team-oriented skills with the ability to work effectively with internal and external groups.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble electro-mechanical equipment including electrical enclosures, back panels, control panels, wiring assemblies, and automated machinery.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and diagrams to guide installation and testing.
  • Diagnose and repair faults involving electrical circuits, mechanical assemblies, and electronic components.
  • Calibrate, configure, and modify equipment to meet operational standards and safety requirements.
  • Perform testing, inspection, and troubleshooting to ensure products meet quality and performance goals.

Education

Associate’s Degree or postsecondary certificate in electromechanical technology, industrial maintenance, or a related field

Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technician

(Contract to Hire for our Client)

Our client is seeking an Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technician to support manufacturing operations by assembling, wiring, testing, and troubleshooting electro-mechanical systems. This role is responsible for ensuring products are built to specification and meet established quality, performance, and safety standards.

Position Details:
  • The hiring range for this role is between $35-$40 perhour,based on experience, internal equity, and career progression
  • This position will be on-site in Portland, OR
  • Schedule: Monday - Friday, 6am - 2:30pm (flexible)
Primary Function:

The Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technician assembles, wires, tests, integrates, inspects, and troubleshoots electro-mechanical systems and equipment. The position works closely with engineering and manufacturing personnel to support production, resolve technical issues, and ensure completed products meet quality and performance requirements.

Essential Job Functions - Responsibilities:
  • Install, test, and assemble electro-mechanical equipment, including electrical enclosures, back panels, control panels, wiring assemblies, and automated machinery.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, technical drawings, and diagrams to guide installation, assembly, testing, and repair activities.
  • Diagnose and repair faults involving electrical circuits, mechanical assemblies, electronic components, and related systems.
  • Follow Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) control procedures and safely handle sensitive electronic components and assemblies within an ESD-controlled manufacturing environment.
  • Calibrate, configure, and modify equipment to meet operational standards and applicable safety requirements.
  • Perform equipment assembly, system integration, functional testing, inspection, and troubleshooting to ensure products meet quality and performance requirements prior to shipment.
  • Collaborate with engineers and other technical personnel to improve system designs and troubleshoot complex technical issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of assembly activities, testing results, inspections, troubleshooting efforts, and product quality documentation.
  • Provide hands‑on training to co‑workers on job functions and technical procedures as needed.
  • Follow and comply with Safety, 5S, ISO, and other company programs, initiatives, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain dependable and consistent attendance to support team performance and productivity.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Education and Experience: (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities)

  • Associate’s Degree or postsecondary certificate in electromechanical technology, industrial maintenance, or a related field required; commensurate experience may be considered.
  • Applicable certifications, such as IPC and J-STD certifications, preferred.
  • Hands‑on experience through apprenticeships, internships, or prior work in a manufacturing environment highly valued.
  • Strong technical and team‑oriented skills with the ability to work effectively with internal and external groups.
  • Demonstrated expert knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems preferred.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, time management, and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical instructions and established procedures.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with engineering, manufacturing, and other technical teams.
Language Skills:
  • Ability to read, write, verbalize, and comprehend instructions and correspondence at a high level in the English language.
  • Ability to professionally respond to internal and external communications.
  • Ability to effectively develop, write, and verbally discuss and/or present technical information to colleagues, management, and customers.
