Synerfac Inc. is seeking an Electro-Mechanical Engineer for its New Castle, DE facility. This permanent, full‑time role covers design, startup, operation and maintenance of pilot plant processes and electrical systems. A Bachelor’s in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering and industrial process experience are required.

The position involves hands‑on electrical work, data analysis, SOP creation, and startup support. Relocation is not provided; regional candidates preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering is required.
• Industrial experience as a process or project engineer with batch and continuous operations is required.
• Experience with 3‑phase electrical systems, motors, starters, VFDs, and related controls is required.

Responsibilities

• Participate in specification, calculations, equipment assembly, startup, operation, teardown and maintenance of pilot plant processes at the New Castle facility.
• Perform data analysis and interpretation of experimental data.
• Operate, install, and maintain electrical systems including 110V/220V wiring and 208/480V 3‑phase power distributions.
• Develop SOPs and ensure they are properly maintained and implemented.
• Provide pre‑commissioning, commissioning, and startup support to operations as required.

Process Engineer - Electrical or Mechanical

Job Type: Full-time

Schedule: 4/10 hour shifts - every Friday off!

Position Overview

A technology company is seeking a Process Engineer - Electrical or Mechanical to join the team at its pilot plant facility in New Castle, Delaware. This position will be responsible for conducting engineering calculations, installing and maintaining industrial electrical systems, starting up various chemical processes, collecting data, and reporting results. The candidate will work in a team environment and support troubleshooting of existing designs.

Responsibilities

• Participate hands-on in the specification, calculations, equipment assembly, utility connections, startup, operation, teardown, cleanup, and maintenance of various pilot plant processes at the New Castle facility and external technology partner locations.
• Perform data analysis and interpretation of experimental data.
• Operate, install, and maintain electrical systems, including hands-on 110V and 220V wiring and connections, as well as familiarity with 208/480V, 3-phase power distribution systems.
• Perform data acquisition during testing and operations, with a willingness to learn and implement industrial process control system architectures.
• Develop accurate SOPs and ensure they are properly maintained and implemented.
• Provide pre-commissioning, commissioning, and startup support to operations as required.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline is required.
• Industrial experience as a process or project engineer with batch and continuous process operations is required.
• Industrial experience with 3 phase electrical systems, including installation and maintenance of motors, starters, VFDs, and related controls.
• Industrial experience with installation and maintenance of low voltage instrumentation and control systems.
• Understanding and implementation of industrial electrical safety practices such as lockout/tagout, deenergizing, PPE, and appropriate testing.
• Familiarity with Windows architecture and IT troubleshooting, including familiarity with installing new programs and features to computers.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills including strong computer skills are required including proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
• Excellent mechanical skills including the ability to manipulate common hand tools is required.
• Ability to work cooperatively and supportively with a broad range of individuals with different levels of education and experience.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks simultaneously with guidance on priority in order to meet established deadlines.
• Willingness to grow with the company and accept new challenges.
