Job summary

Zipline is hiring a Production Technician to assemble, test, and troubleshoot electro-mechanical and avionics hardware for autonomous drones. You will work with PCB assemblies, cable harnesses, and modular systems following detailed schematics and safety protocols.

The role requires hands-on experience with potting, enclosure integration, and cleanroom practices. You will support production scale and ensure reliability for global operations, including occasional overtime.

Qualifications

• Experience with bonding/potting processes and fine-detail assembly.
• Able to wear a protective respirator as required.
• Ability to interpret complex technical documentation with minimal supervision.
• Strong ownership and collaborative mindset.

Responsibilities

• Support electro-mechanical and avionics hardware builds from assembly through validation testing.
• Assemble test and verify PCB assemblies, cable harnesses, and integrated modules per schematics and quality protocols.
• Troubleshoot build issues and perform rework; collaborate with engineers to resolve failures.
• Assist in engineering validation activities (thermal, EMI/ESD, vibration) and mechanical integration of electronics into aircraft.
• Maintain clean, organized manufacturing lines following 5S and lean practices.
• Provide feedback on design and manufacturability to improve quality and efficiency.
• Develop fixtures, document test results, and support onboarding of new technicians.
• Adapt to shifting priorities and extended hours when necessary.
