Zipline is seeking a Mechanical Test Engineer to design, build, and validate test systems used to develop and prove concept functionality for autonomous drone platforms. You will own cradle-to-grave test solutions, collaborating with structures, aero, embedded, and software teams while addressing edge cases from field data and logs.

This is a hands-on role at Zipline’s South San Francisco headquarters, with potential for equity and performance bonuses.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical engineering fundamentals.
• Cross functional team management experience to balance structures, aero, embedded and software teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain critical test systems.
• Manage test systems for early stage designs and prioritize efforts for maximum impact.
• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and technicians.
• Pivot as needed while navigating regulatory spaces to wow customers.
