Job summary

Applied Materials in Gloucester, MA is seeking a hands-on manufacturing technician on an 18-month contract with potential for permanency. You will assemble mechanical, electrical, and electro‑mechanical subassemblies and complete units on the shop floor, following schematics and work orders.

You’ll document progress, assist with troubleshooting, and ensure safety procedures are followed. You will also review parts, audits, and inspections, load simple software tasks, and contribute to process

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of manufacturing experience.
• Comfort with computers and data entry.
• Hands-on skill with hand/power tools and related equipment.
• Ability to interpret blueprints and electrical schematics.
• Stamina for standing/walking ~85% of shift.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting and basic repairs.

Responsibilities

• Build mechanical, electrical/electronic, and electro‑mechanical subassemblies and complete units.
• Follow schematics, wiring diagrams, and work orders for assembly and test.
• Assist with troubleshooting and repair activities.
• Use test fixtures and measurement equipment under supervision.
• Enter progress, time and expense data and document inspections.
• Receive and audit parts and inspect components for defects.
