Job summary

Openwork is seeking an Electro-Mechanical Assembler in Sugar Land, TX to build electro-mechanical products using engineering docs and instructions. You will install processors, memory, power supplies, fans, cables, and brackets, routing cables and using torque drivers.

Role requires reading schematics, electronics/SMT experience, and strong attention to detail with manual dexterity. Team orientation and adherence to safety and production schedules are essential.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and assembly instructions.
• Experience in electronics or SMT.
• Soldering experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity for small parts and precision work.
• Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Understanding of basic electronics concepts.

Responsibilities

• Assemble electro-mechanical products per engineering docs and work instructions.
• Install processors, memory, storage, power supplies, fans, cables, and brackets.
• Route and secure cables using approved methods.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and calibrated torque drivers.
• Rivet sheet metal parts and apply RTV to PCBs and cables.
• Perform in-process inspections and verify part numbers and labels.
• Report discrepancies and documentation errors.
• Maintain ESD compliance and clean workstation.
• Complete work orders within production schedules.
• Assist in prototype builds, engineering changes, and new product introductions.
• Communicate production issues promptly to supervisors.

ELECTRO-MECHANICAL ASSEMBLER

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assemble electro-mechanical products according to engineering documentation and work instructions.
• Install processors, memory modules, storage devices, power supplies, fans, cables, expansion cards, brackets, rails, and mechanical hardware.
• Route and secure cables using approved methods.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and calibrated torque drivers.
• Riveting sheet metal fab parts.
• Applying RTV to computer circuit boards & cable connections.
• Perform in-process inspections of assembled products.
• Verify part numbers, revisions, labels, and serial numbers.
• Report discrepancies, documentation errors, missing parts, or drawing issues.
• Maintain ESD compliance throughout the assembly process.
• Complete assigned work orders within established production schedules.
• Assist in prototype builds, engineering changes, and new product introductions.
• Communicate production issues promptly to supervisors.
• Assist coworkers when workload priorities change.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized workstation.
• Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Perform other assigned task as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, schematics, and assembly instructions.
• Experience with Electronics or SMT required.
• Soldering experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity for handling small components and performing precision tasks.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Understanding of basic electronics concepts & terminology.
• Ability to work with small parts.
• Highschool Diploma or equivalent

• Monday - Friday
• 6:30am - 3:30pm

PAY RATE:

• $18/Hour
