Description

Job Title: ELECTRO-MECHANIC MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

Reports To: MAINTENANCE MANAGER

Location: IRVINE, CA

Shift: MISC.

Department: EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE

SUMMARY

Core responsibility: Perform preventive maintenance on all plant equipment, electrical and mechanical. Install, maintain, and repair electromechanical systems, machinery, electro control, PLC programming, servo drives, and related components, and other electrical control functions in the plant. Fully analyze required blueprints, drawings, work orders, maintenance procedures, OEM instructions, and sketches to facilitate the fabrication, assembly/maintenance of machinery, and installation of desired parts. Able to detect errors and correct them through proper channels. Troubleshoot and repair industrial electrical circuitry used in manufacturing, material handling, R&D equipment, building facilities, environmental chambers, air compressors, and UPS systems. Good verbal and written communication skills.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring and equipment.
  2. Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using equipment and tools to locate the root cause and provide countermeasures.
  3. Inspect electrical systems and equipment to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment and replacement.
  4. Understand and able to modify parameters in PLC and VFD.
  5. Ensure all work is performed following code.
  6. Able to use a variety of tools and gauges to repair and diagnose production machinery.
  7. Troubleshoot all electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic issues on manufacturing/R&D equipment, building facilities in accordance with government local electrical requirements, OSHA, and NFPA 79.
  8. Perform preventive maintenance service of production equipment during scheduled machine services.

Qualifications

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Able to test electrical systems, find the root cause and provide countermeasures relative to the operation of the machinery in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Capable of diagnosing and modifying current PLC logic for production equipment.
