Job summary

Knauf Insulation North America seeks an Electro-Mechanic to maintain A/C and D/C motor control equipment, install conduit and wiring, and stay current on ladder logic and instrumentation diagrams, while managing process control loops in a heavy industrial environment. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, OSHA-certified forklift license, and at least five years of maintenance experience.

Expect scheduled and on-call maintenance with a focus on safety, documentation and collaboration

Qualifications

  • Must obtain and maintain OSHA Certified Powered Industrial Vehicle operator license.

Responsibilities

  • Maintenance and repairs on electrical and mechanical systems (motors, conveyors, PLCs, hydraulics, pneumatics).
  • Troubleshoot issues, identify root causes, and restore equipment quickly.
  • Perform preventive maintenance to reduce breakdowns and maintain optimal functionality.
  • Work safely with electrical systems, read schematics and diagrams.
  • Maintain mechanical equipment such as gearboxes, bearings, belts, pumps.
  • Ensure safety compliance and document maintenance activities and inventory.
  • Collaborate with production to support continuous improvement and cover on-call emergencies.
  • Drive employee engagement and foster a culture of safety and inclusion.

About the Role:

As an Electro - Mechanic, you will maintain A/C and D/C motor control equipment along with install conduit and wiring in a skilled and professional manner. In this role, you will remain current on all ladder logic and instrumentation diagrams while maintaining and understanding process control loops. In addition, you will maintain and troubleshoot combustion equipment and install PLC and computer-based control systems.

Responsibilities
  • Maintenance and Repairs:Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks on electrical and mechanical systems, including but not limited to motors, conveyors, PLCs, hydraulic systems, and pneumatic systems.
  • Troubleshooting:Diagnose issues, identify root causes, and implement solutions to efficiently restore equipment and systems to working order.
  • Preventive Maintenance:Execute planned preventive maintenance activities to reduce equipment breakdowns and ensure optimal functionality.
  • Electrical Work:Safely work with electrical systems, including wiring, controls, and electronic components, while adhering to regulations and standards.
    • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including reading and interpreting electrical schematics and diagrams.
  • Mechanical Work:Maintain and repair mechanical equipment, such as gearboxes, bearings, belts, and pumps.
  • Safety Compliance:Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a culture of safety in the workplace.
  • Documentation:Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, spare parts inventory, and equipment history.
  • Collaboration:Collaborate with the production team to address maintenance needs, support continuous improvement initiatives, and minimize downtime.
  • Emergency Response:Be available for on-call duties and respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests.

Qualifications

Education:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain current OSHA Certified Powered Industrial Vehicle operator license.

Experience:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of maintenance experience with mechanical equipment in a heavy industrial environment.
  • Must have exhibited excellent attendance in prior work history and be committed to maintaining such attendance. This is a key qualification, due to the unusual nature of the operation.

To perform this job successfully, individuals must demonstrate the following:

  • Observe safety and security procedures, report potentially unsafe conditions, and use equipment and materials properly.
  • Accurately count and perform basic math functions, including mental calculation of simple equations and/or fractions.
  • Must be able to sufficiently read, write, and understand English.
