Job summary

Cascades in Rockingham is seeking an Electro-Instrumentation Technician to maintain, repair and install electrical and instrumentation systems. The role requires reading schematics and working with Allen Bradley PLCs, VFDs, HMIs, robotics and Rexroth controls.

AutoCAD knowledge is a plus and the job entails physical activity including lifting up to 50 lbs. The position is full-time with daytime hours and on-call rotation, offering a competitive hourly wage and a full range of benefits,

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in instrumentation or industrial electric, or 2+ years of industrial experience, or 5 years in papermill, or 10 years electrical experience
• Mechatronics degree is a plus
• Experience with Rockwell, ABB, Fanuc Robotics, Valmet equipment is a plus
• Tough physical work; able to lift up to 50 lbs

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair and install electrical, electronic and instrumentation equipment.
• Read, understand and draw necessary schematics.
• Troubleshoot and repair Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs).
• Troubleshoot pneumatic/hydraulic circuits and analyze documentation.
• Capable of product evaluation, process or equipment troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair and install electrical, electronic and instrumentation equipment.
• Read, understand and draw necessary schematics.
• Knowledge of Allen Bradley PLCs, Allen Bradley AC Drive/Servo Controllers, HMI’s, Robotics and Rexroth controls.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft applications is a plus.
• Knowledge of electrical schematics and electrical controls.
• Troubleshoot and repair Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs).
• Use basic hand tools: multimeters, thermal imaging cameras, megger, and other electrical test equipment.
• Troubleshoot pneumatic/hydraulic circuits and analyze documentation.
• Capable of product evaluation, process or equipment troubleshooting.

Qualifications

• Combination of an Associate’s degree in instrumentation or industrial electric and 2 years of experience in an industrial environment OR 5 years experience in a papermill OR 10 years of electrical experience in an industrial environment.
• Mechatronics degree (considered an asset).
• Experience with Rockwell, ABB, Fanuc Robotics, Valmet equipment (considered an asset).
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs in a stretching manner. Position involves lots of physical work including lifting, bending, climbing steps, and standing for extended periods of time.
