S&P Global Energy is seeking a reporter to cover the impact of expanding demand for power in North America, focusing on electrification, data centers and other emerging energy developments. The role will also cover power and environmental markets in the United States and Canada, delivering must-read reporting for utilities, traders, and policymakers.

You will balance beat reporting, data analysis and enterprise journalism, building a strong area of expertise and networks of key sources

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional journalism experience.
• Strong writing and reporting skills, along with excellent news judgement.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and execute story ideas.

Responsabilités

• Report on the implications of rising electricity demand for power markets, utilities, transmission development and resource planning.
• Cover electrification trends across transportation, industry, buildings and emerging large-load sectors, including data centers and advanced manufacturing.
• Support US and Canada power market coverage.
• Deliver differentiated reporting on renewable energy certificates and net zero initiatives.
• Support key daily power and energy transition publications.
