Job summary

The City of Manhattan Beach is seeking an experienced Electrician to join the Public Works Department - Utilities Division in California. You will install, maintain and repair electrical wiring systems and equipment city-wide, with duties across facilities and field locations.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, completion of an accredited electrical apprenticeship, and two years journey-level electrician experience. Valid CA licenses and safety training are expected.

Qualifications

• High School or GED required.
• Complete accredited electrical apprenticeship.
• Two years journey-level electrician experience preferred.
• Instrumentation experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain and repair electrical wiring systems and equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance on electrical equipment.
• Inspect circuits, switches, panels, and lighting; replace defective parts.
• Assist with project design, reviews, and vendor coordination.
• Read blueprints and schematics to determine scope and tasks.
• Ensure safety procedures and city electrical policies are followed.
