Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of experience in marine, shipyard, or industrial electrical field.
• Ability to read and interpret marine drawings and blueprints with metric and standard measurements.
• Proven experience testing and troubleshooting shipboard electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Test, verify, and troubleshoot shipboard electrical systems during construction.
• Perform circuit continuity verification and functional testing of power and lighting.
• Operate electrical test equipment including voltmeters, ammeters, and power analyzers.
• Test high-voltage systems up to 480V and 4160V.
• Inspect motor controls, transformers, and switchboards for proper operation.
• Support testing of radar, sonar, and navigation equipment.
• Read marine blueprints and diagrams to ensure accurate testing procedures.
• Work in active shipyard environments with heights and confined spaces.

What You’ll Do

• Test, verify, and troubleshoot shipboard electrical systems to ensure proper operation across all phases of construction.
• Perform phoning, circuit continuity verification, and functional testing of power and lighting systems.
• Operate and interpret results from electrical test equipment, including voltmeters, ammeters, ohmmeters, megohmmeters, power analyzers, and other diagnostic tools.
• Test and validate high-voltage systems including 480V and 4160V power distribution equipment.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, and verify the functionality of motor controls, transformers, power panels, switchboards, and PLC-based control systems.
• Support testing of electronic and fiber-optic systems such as radar, sonar, communications, propulsion, and navigation equipment.
• Read and interpret marine blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals to ensure accurate testing procedures.
• Work in active shipyard environments involving heights, confined spaces, and variable conditions.
• Follow safety procedures that meet - and often exceed - industry standards.

• Proven experience testing and troubleshooting shipboard or industrial electrical systems
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, drawings, and wiring diagrams
• Strong working knowledge of electrical diagnostic equipment and safe testing practices

• Familiarity with both standard and metric measurement systems

Must Have

• Minimum 4 years of experience in the marine, shipyard, or industrial electrical field.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
