Duties
  • You will coordinate availability of any special tools, materials, equipment and assists trade help required with shop planners; and plans sequences of tasks, layouts, worker assignments and any special work methods to be utilized.
  • You will resolve working problems and take action to overcome bottlenecks, equipment breakdowns, material shortages, and other delays, requesting special permission, decisions, or assistance from higher levels of authority as necessary.
  • You will preview job at worksite; coordinate availability of any special tools, materials, equipment and assists trade help required with shop planners and plans sequence of tasks, layouts, worker assignments.
  • You will perform detailed, planning, scheduling, work direction, coordination with assist trades, inspections and certifications.
  • You will assign tasks, tools, equipment and materials to workers; lay out work for the group and interpret plans and instructions.
  • You will instruct workers on proper methods, use and care of equipment, and safe work practices.

  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
  • This position may require exposure to high noise levels.
  • This position may be subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
