Job description

This position is responsible for ensuring the integrity and safe working condition of all shop and billboard-mounted electrical components/systems.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Installation and repair of wiring and conduit within the scope of the NEC (National Electrical Code).
  2. Repair and maintenance of electrical fixtures and control equipment (e.g., Time Clocks).
  3. Ability to set and program time clocks.
  4. Plan for new or modified installations to minimize waste, provide access for future maintenance, and lock all disconnects when leaving the sign.
  5. Install equipment such as lighting fixtures, relays, ballasts, breakers, disconnects, circuit breakers, and fuses. Fasten in place with screws or bolts.
  6. Use the lockout/tagout method.
  7. Identify and promptly report any unsafe conditions observed.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS, ENVIRONMENT:

Climbing and working at elevated heights in various weather conditions, sitting, walking, standing, speaking, hearing, reading, kneeling, lifting (minimum of 50 lbs.), carrying, multitasking, frequent interruptions, verbal and written communication, detailed work, and maintaining confidentiality.

EQUIPMENT USED:

Safety harness with lanyard, personal protective equipment, ladders, a multimeter, power tools, and hand tools.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 2 years electrical experience.
  • Ability to safely climb and work at heights of 60 ft or more.
  • Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical issues.
  • Should be a licensed electrician or demonstrate sufficient knowledge and experience to qualify as a "qualified person" in a sign/billboard environment.
  • Experience working with voltages from 120 to 240 volts, single and three-phase.
