Job summary

Greif, Inc. is seeking an Electrician/Maintenance for the 2nd shift to install, test, maintain and adjust electrical systems in the plant. The role includes programming, maintaining, troubleshooting PLCs, and repairing complex equipment with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities include PM tasks, stock maintenance, and ensuring safety and reliability of plant electrical systems. A strong toolbox and the ability to read schematics are required.

Qualifications

• Experience installing, testing and maintaining electrical systems with minimal supervision.
• Program, troubleshoot, and repair programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
• Repair, adjust and maintain complex plant equipment with minimal supervision.

Job Description:

• The installation, testing, maintaining and adjusting of all electrical systems and equipment in the plant with minimum supervision.
• Program, maintain, troubleshoot and repair programmable logic controllers.
• Repair, adjust and maintain plant equipment of a complex nature with minimum supervision.
• Setup and operate all machine shop equipment and perform all bench and handwork as required.
• Perform welding and brazing as required.
• Complete set of electrician's hand tools (supplied by employee)
• Complete set of mechanic's hand tools (supplied by employee)
• Basic set of machinist's hand tools (supplied by employee)
• Electrical testing instruments and meters
• Gage, fixtures, jigs, and welding equipment
• New and replacement parts, mechanical and electrical, shop supplies and materials.
• Guidance from Plant Supervisors, Electrician "A", Shop Lead Person Occasionally directs others when work requires assistance.

Duties

• Receive instructions, work orders and PM tasks for required work.
• Plan and layout new electrical systems with guidance and direction when required.
• Install, test, adjust and repair all electrical systems in the plant, with guidance and direction when required.
• Make necessary measurements and estimates of materials required.
• Maintain stock as required for the efficient operation of the facility.
• Perform PM tasks as required.
• Maintain checklist and related records as required.
• Diagnose problems on all systems, including programmable logic controllers and make repairs as needed for the effective operation of the facility.
• Use all electricians & machinist's hand tools.
• Disassemble, reassemble and adjust machines of above average complexity with minimum guidance & direction.
• Maintain electrical schematics and mechanical drawings in accordance with established practices.
• Change dies on production equipment as directed.
• Setup, adjust and operate all machine tools in shop, performing work according to accepted machine shop practices and with desired tolerances.
• Communicate with Maintenance Supervisor, Machine Shop lead Person and Electrician "A".
• Keep assigned areas, tools, and equipment clean, safe and orderly.
• Perform all other duties necessary to meet the work requirements inherent to the job in addition to the principal duties which are listed above to describe only the principal functions of the job and any other duties instructed by Supervision.

Labor Grade 19 Rate $32.93 Skilled position bonus $1.25 Shift bonus $0.75 e: Full-time

Compensation Range

The pay for this position is $32.93 per hour. The position may also be eligible for a short-term incentive.
