Greif is hiring an Industrial Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician for 1st shift in Mount Sterling, KY. You will perform preventive maintenance, install and service electrical systems, and troubleshoot PLC-based controls in a manufacturing setting.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma and 2–4 years’ experience, with strong electrical, mechanical, and diagnostic skills. Benefits start day one and include comprehensive health coverage and a 401(k).

• Read wiring diagrams, schematics, and blueprints.
• Understand AC/DC motors, VFDs, and high-voltage circuits.
• Knowledge of PLC programming languages such as Ladder Logic.

Responsabilidades

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance to detect and prevent problems.
• Start up and shut down equipment per operation requirements and safety rules.
• Visually inspect and test electrical machinery and equipment.
• Dismantle, inspect, and replace defective electrical parts.
• Lay out, assemble, install, test, and adjust electrical fixtures and panels.
• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot control systems and power distribution; perform PLC work.

Key Responsibilities

• Performs scheduled preventive maintenance tasks such as checking, cleaning, or repairing equipment to detect and prevent problems.
• Performs start up and shut down of equipment in accordance with operation’s requirements and company safety procedures.
• Visually inspects and tests electrical machinery and equipment.
• Dismantles, inspects, and replaces electrical machinery and replaces defective electrical parts.
• Performs lay-outs, assemblies, installs, tests, repairs, and adjusts electrical fixtures, apparatuses, equipment, wiring, to include panels and breakers.
• Installs, maintains, and troubleshoots industrial control systems, including instrumentation and power distribution equipment. Performs PLC programming, troubleshooting and program documentation maintenance.
• Examines work orders and converses with equipment operators to detect equipment problems.
• Reads and interprets equipment manuals, diagrams, sketches, schematics, engineering specifications, and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
• Performs work of electrical theory and principles, statutory codes, and principles of operation of electrical equipment.
• Follows guidance from more senior level colleagues. May assist more junior level colleagues with routine questions.
• Adheres to safety rules including live panel permits, arc flash safety, NEC codes, and other safety rules that govern electrical trades.
• Follows the operations and company safety procedures and practices.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education And Experience

• Typically possesses High School diploma (or equivalent) and 2-4 years of experience.

Required Skills

• Electrical Systems: Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and blueprints; and work with AC/DC motors, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), and high-voltage circuits.
• Mechanical Competency: Extensive knowledge of how mechanical and electrical systems and their components function, including: gearboxes, chains, bearings, pneumatics, hydraulics, and mold changes.
• Automation and Controls: Understanding of programmable logic controller (PLC) programming languages, such as Ladder Logic.
• Diagnostic Tools: Proficiency using multimeters, clamp meters, and hand or power tools.

Compliance

• Strict adherence to Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and National Electrical Code (NEC) standards.
• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Mandatory use of safety glasses, steel-toed boots, and hearing protection.

Compensation Range

The pay range for this position is $21.78 - $37.12 annually. Typically, a competitive wage for new hires will fall between 27.00 to 27.00. Offers for this position may vary based on market data and other factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location. If the competitive wage is equal in both fields, the starting rate is the same for all applicants that apply for this role. The starting rate is not representative of future compensation increases. The position may also be eligible for a short-term incentive.
