Position Overview:

Weekend & Holidays Required

  • Diagnoses malfunctioning systems to ensure compatibility and safety for all electrical equipment and systems (including fire system motors, fixtures, equipment using testing devices, etc.).
  • Uses material judiciously to prevent waste and assure a cost-effective operation. Estimates accurately material requirements for assigned tasks.
  • Interprets prints and/or drawings to perform an assigned task or project. Interprets accurately written and or oral instructions to perform an assigned task or project.
  • Cleans work area at the end of the job, day or when leaving the area for an extended period of time as deemed appropriate. Maintains work area in a safe and organized manner to prevent accidents and/or personal injury.
  • Adjusts work schedule to perform work to accommodate patient, staff and other departmental needs. Willingness to work overtime as required. Assists other members of the department in the course of their daily duties as may be necessary.
  • Always uses the necessary and required safety equipment when operating shop power equipment. Uses proper PPE when using shop equipment and/or hand power tools.
  • Completes daily work orders as assigned with no repeat calls for lack of quality workmanship. Manages paperwork daily, notes any special findings or items needing attention on work orders timely and accurately. Performs PM work orders as assigned in a timely manner. Helps contribute to the department's goal of a 95% monthly completion rate of PM work orders.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: One year related experience.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Proficient in English. Verbal and written communication skills. Basic computer skills required.
  • Special Training: On the job training.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Frequent physical demands include: Carrying objects, Pushing/Pulling, Twisting, Bending, Reaching forward, Reaching overhead, Squatting/kneeling/crawling, Wrist position deviation.
  • Occasional physical demands include: Sitting, Climbing (e.g., stairs or ladders), Keyboard use/repetitive motion, Taste or Smell.
  • Continuous physical demands include: Standing, Walking, Pinching/fine motor activities, Talking or Hearing.
  • Lifting Floor to Waist 50 lbs. Lifting Waist Level and Above 70 lbs.
  • Sensory Requirements include: Accurate Near Vision, Accurate Far Vision, Color Discrimination, Accurate Depth Perception, Accurate Hearing.
  • Anticipated Occupational Exposure Risks Include: Bloodborne Pathogens, Chemical, Airborne Communicable Disease, Extreme Temperatures, Uneven Surfaces or Elevations, Extreme Noise Levels, Dust/Particulate Matter.
