Job summary

Legends Global in Albany, NY seeks an HVAC/Maintenance Electrician to develop, operate and maintain all electrical systems for events and daily operations. The role requires strong knowledge of building electrical codes and computer literacy.

You will perform preventive maintenance across electrical, Fire, HVAC, and plumbing systems; troubleshoot issues; manage cables; and ensure safety compliance. A valid license and apprenticeship are preferred; enjoy benefits and stable hours.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school education; apprenticeship or trade school completed.
• 2–4 years of journeyman level experience preferred.
• Electrical license is highly desirable.
• Proficient computer skills (Outlook, Word, Excel) and blueprint literacy.

Responsibilities

• Work with events manager to ensure all electrical needs for shows are met.
• Perform preventive maintenance on electrical, fire, HVAC and plumbing systems.
• Perform cosmetic maintenance (painting, tile, carpentry) as needed.
• Troubleshoot electrical problems as they occur.
• Monitor electrical inventory and coordinate supply orders.
• Operate and maintain fire alarm and lighting systems; monitor generator tests.
• Collaborate with HVAC technician for proper system operation.
• Pull, run, and terminate cables.
• Follow OSHA/NFPA safety codes and company safety requirements.

Job description

SUMMARY

Work with the HVAC/Maintenance Technician to develop, operate and maintain all electrical systems. Facility event coverage for all electrical needs. Must have working knowledge of computers and extensive knowledge of building electrical codes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work with the events manager and show management to ensure that all electrical needs are met for shows.
• Perform preventative maintenance related projects to the building’s electrical, Fire, HVAC, and plumbing systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance related projects for the building’s cosmetic needs including painting, tile replacement, and general carpentry.
• Troubleshoot all electrical problems as they occur.
• Monitor all electrical inventory and supplies and work with management on ordering and replenishing supplies as needed.
• Operate and maintain computerized fire alarm and lighting systems.
• Monitor monthly generator test.
• Work with building HVAC Technician to ensure proper operation of HVAC systems.
• Pulling, running, and terminating cables.
• Adhere to OSHA, NFPA and other applicable safety codes, as well as Legends Global job safety requirements.
• Operate equipment including Forklift, Scissor Lift, Truck (w/snowplow etc....)
• Assist with snow plowing/removal as needed.
• Other duties may be assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION & EXPERIEINCE

• High School Diploma or GED
• Successful completion of apprenticeship program or trade school
• 2-4 years related journeyman level experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
• Possession of Electrical license is highly desirable

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Commercial electrical experience
• Must be familiar with blueprints and local building codes
• Current driver’s license required
• Computer skills including MS Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.

WORKING ENVIORNMENT

• Requires the ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays in addition to normal business hours.
• This position requires work inside and/or outside of the building as needed by events and is subject to changing climate and adverse weather conditions.
• The worker is subject to noise. Noise levels will vary depending on the job task and events in the building.
• Must have knowledge of safe operation of all tools required to perform necessary job functions. These tools can include, but are not limited to, sharp cutters, reamers, drills, gas cutting torches, benders and equipment such as service carts, scissor lifts and boom lifts.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to use arms and hands to work; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl to access electrical systems; and talk or hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception. Be able to work in elevated spaces such as off a lift or on a catwalk.
