Job description

The incumbent performs a variety of electrical trade functions, such as the installation, maintenance, or repair of equipment for the generation, distribution, or utilization of electric energy. Work involves installing or repairing electrical equipment such as generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems, or other transmission equipment. The role requires working from blueprints, diagnosing trouble, and using hand tools and testing instruments. Typically, this position requires at least four years of Journeyman Level Experience.

Key responsibilities include:

1. Inspections and assessments of electrical gear, reporting conditions, and performing repairs.
2. Utilizing thermography imaging to identify electrical hot spots and distribution problems.
3. Using motor analysis tools to test and report on motors, and correcting electrical issues.
4. Diagnosing malfunctioning systems and components, and repairing as needed.
5. Completing daily work order logs and documenting inspections, maintenance, and repairs.
6. Interfacing with customers and ensuring feedback is collected.
7. Adhering to safety, security, and environmental regulations, including OSHA standards.
8. Installing electrical systems, fixtures, and equipment, ensuring compatibility and safety.
9. Performing routine inspections and replacing old wiring to prevent system breakdowns.
10. Operating motor vehicles in accordance with policies.
11. Possessing a valid state driver’s license.
