Shift: 1st Shift, Monday – Thursday: 7:00am – 5:30 pm (4-10’s) on call as needed.

Position Description

We are seeking an experienced Electrician to support electrical systems and facility operations at a professional site in Suffolk, VA. This role is ideal for a hands‑on electrical maintenance professional who excels at troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and ensuring safe, reliable facility operations.

The Electrician will perform complex electrical maintenance and repairs, support building automation systems, and assist with general facility maintenance as needed. This position requires strong technical expertise, attention to safety, and the ability to collaborate effectively with site leadership, subcontractors, and cross‑functional maintenance teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform preventative and corrective electrical maintenance on facility systems
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment, lighting systems, circuits, and controls
  • Support building automation system monitoring and adjustments
  • Assist with electrical installations and upgrades, including three‑phase systems
  • Maintain and troubleshoot emergency generators and power distribution systems
  • Coordinate and oversee subcontractors performing on‑site electrical services
  • Respond to electrical service requests and facility maintenance issues
  • Assist skilled trades with general maintenance tasks such as plumbing and repairs
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and service documentation
  • Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA 70E, and site safety standards
Required Skills / Education
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 3–5 years of hands‑on experience in electrical or facilities maintenance
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license
  • Apprentice Electrician License (minimum requirement)
  • NFPA 70E certification or equivalent electrical safety training
  • Experience working with voltages up to 600V and three‑phase power systems
  • Knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC) standards
  • Proficiency with electrical testing equipment, relays, circuit breakers, and infrared scanning
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, drawings, and technical manuals
  • Experience with high‑voltage switchgear and PLC systems preferred
  • Strong organizational, time‑management, and communication skills
  • Basic computer skills for reporting, documentation, and email communication
