Responsibilities
- Perform advanced electrical maintenance and repairs to support hospital operations.
- Complete preventative maintenance and work orders on electrical systems, equipment, and infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical and electronic systems, including HVAC, variable speed drives, switchgear, motor control centers, and emergency generators.
- Ensure compliance with electrical and building codes and maintain safe working conditions throughout the facility.
- Be part of an on-call rotation (no regular weekends; only emergencies as needed).
Qualifications
- Education:
- High School Diploma or GED, required.
- Two-year technical degree required OR equivalent work experience.
- Completion of a three-year electrical apprenticeship, required.
- Experience:
- Minimum five years of experience in commercial electrical distribution installation and maintenance, required.
- Healthcare or hospital experience, preferred.
- Licensure:
- Valid city or county journeyman's card and/or electrician’s license from state of employment, required.
- Valid driver’s license, required.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of life safety, electrical, and building codes.
- Expertise in electrical equipment installation, troubleshooting, and repair.
- Skilled in reading technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
- Experience with electrical testing devices and emergency power systems.
- (Preferred) Familiarity with mechanical systems and basic PC use.
