Responsibilities

• Performs installation and repair of electric motors, pumps, fans, generators, heaters, and other apparatus. Includes alignment/adjustment of motor shaft and related tasks.
• Maintains electric distribution of secondary power, including circuit breakers and transformers.
• Maintains tools and equipment in a safe, workman‑like manner. Reads and follows blueprints, oral instructions, and written repair orders. Records and timekeeping as required.
• Opens, interprets, and repairs wiring, conduit, fittings, and fixtures in building repair and renovation, including climbing as needed. Locates power failures and short circuits in buildings, above and below ground.
• Operates university vehicles and performs related work supporting Facilities Maintenance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and two years’ experience or post‑high‑school education and experience equal to two years. A relevant technical or vocational degree may substitute for experience.
• A valid State of Florida or Georgia driver’s license, or the ability to obtain one upon hire.
