Job summary

Cypress-Fairbanks ISD seeks an Electrician to perform and supervise electrical installations and maintenance across district facilities. The role requires reading specifications, adhering to codes, and ensuring safe operation with a strong emphasis on reliability and teamwork.

Applicants must hold a Texas Journeyman or Master License, a High School Diploma or GED, seven years' experience, and the ability to read and understand English. CDL class B is preferred or obtainable within six months.

Qualifications

  • Seven years of experience in the electrical trade.
  • Ability to read, speak and understand English.
  • CDL Class B or ability to obtain within six months of employment.
  • Clean driving record per Texas School Bus Driver’s requirement.
  • Knowledge of electrical codes and new construction specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all responsibilities of an Electrician I-IV.
  • Maintain good working relationships with colleagues.
  • Serve as first contact for problems or grievances.
  • Recommend address disciplinary issues to the Electrical Foreman.
  • Keep Foreman informed of daily work activities.
  • Coordinate with department on modifications, work orders and emergencies.
  • Assist with large projects to complete assignments.
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance.

Salary/Pay Grade

$30.67/HS12

Salary (based on verifiable job-related experience) as set by the Board of Trustees for the school year

Essential Functions
  • Perform all responsibilities of an Electrician I-IV.

  • Make recommendations to the Electrical Forman on addressing disciplinary issues.
  • Keep the Forman abreast of daily work activities.
  • Coordinate and assist the department with modifications, work orders, emergencies and large projects as needed to complete assignments.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Management Team.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function.
Physical Demands/Working Conditions For All Electrician Positions
  • Must be able to lift and carry 75 pounds.
  • Be available to work different schedules or shifts to accomplish tasks.
  • Be available for after hour demands, subject to 24-hour responsibility.
  • Maintain emotional control under stress.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to keep information confidential.
