THE JESS HOWARD ELECTRIC COMPANY IS A FAMILY-OWNED BUSINESS THAT HAS BEEN DOING ALL PHASES OF ELECTRICAL CONTRACTING WORK SINCE 1945.

We have established lasting relationships with many residential, commercial, and industrial utility customers. We are a unique electrical contractor due to the fact that we perform various types of electrical work, including residential, commercial, and industrial projects, sports lighting, airport lighting, traffic signals, underground systems, pole-line work, and utility projects. With over 120 employees and 300 pieces of equipment, there is no job too small or too large for Jess Howard Electric Company.

Position Description

Under the direct supervision of the Journeyman Electrician Foreman, this position acts as a liaison between the company and clients, interacting with various contractors in many capacities. The role involves managing the day-to-day operations of the project, laying out work, and supervising other journeymen and apprentices.

Responsibilities
  1. Review and understand project plans, specifications, and estimates from the project estimator.
  2. Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures based on job specifications, blueprints, and local codes.
  3. Enforce OSHA safety requirements, company safety programs, and job-specific safety standards.
  4. Test electrical systems or continuity of circuits in wiring, equipment, or fixtures.
  5. Inspect electrical systems, equipment, or components to identify hazards, defects, or the need for adjustments or repairs, ensuring compliance with codes.
Qualifications
  • High school or vocational school diploma or equivalent.
  • Journeyman certification from an accredited apprenticeship program.
  • OSHA 30 Hour certification.
  • Current CPR / First Aid certification.
  • Class A CDL and Fire Alarm license in good standing.
  • Strong verbal communication and problem-solving skills.
Work Arrangement

In Office

Salary Range

$25-40 per hour, based on experience.
