Position Summary
Plan, lay-out, install, test, and repair wiring, electrical fixtures, apparatus, motors, equipment, and control systems in accordance with all applicable plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties
- Interpret drawings, sketches, software, and plans; determine work procedures, tools, and equipment needed to troubleshoot and repair problems
- Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install electrical conduit; weld supports; install cable and duct banks; make terminations
- Install control and distribution apparatus and secure in place
- Test and start up systems; check circuit continuity to ensure electrical compatibility and safety
- Observe functioning of installed equipment or systems to identify hazards and determine need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement
- Pull wire through conduit; connect wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment
- Work with high and low voltage systems
- Disassemble and repair defective electrical equipment or systems
- Operate electrical and mechanical hand tools, power tools, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical tools
- Estimate sizes, distances, and quantities; determine time, costs, resources, or materials needed for tasks
- Inspect subordinate’s work for compliance; identify deficiencies and implement corrective actions
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; previous experience in the field or related area preferred
- Strong working knowledge and skills for the position
- Ability to understand, follow, and transmit written and oral instructions; effective communication skills
- Proficient in safe and efficient use of electrical, hand, power, and layout tools, as well as measurement tools
Requirements
- Constant movement around a construction/industrial site; ability to stand, walk, sit, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl
- Work outdoors in changing weather conditions
- Work irregular hours, including weekends, overtime, and holidays
- Use ladders, mechanical platforms, manlifts, scaffolds; ability to climb and maintain balance
- Work in confined, cluttered, and uneven environments
- Complete tasks in noisy and dusty environments
- Move items weighing up to 50 pounds
- Possess required tools; may require US driver’s license
- Comply with safety and project rules; perform other duties as required
- Pass pre-access drug and alcohol testing, medical, and background checks
