Job summary

IKO Industries is seeking a Journeyman Electrician for its Bismarck, Missouri plant to install, maintain and repair electrical systems across production equipment. Qualifications

• Journeyman Electrician certification or equivalent trade qualification.
• 3–5 years of industrial electrical maintenance experience preferred.
• Experience with AC/DC systems, motors, controls, PLCs, and industrial automation.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical equipment and control systems in the plant.
• Diagnose electrical failures using testing equipment and diagnostics.
• Maintain motors, MCCs, VFDs, PLCs, sensors, and instrumentation.
• Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on production equipment.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
• Install conduit, wiring, panels, switches, and related components.
• Support production by responding to equipment breakdowns and minimizing downtime.
• Assist with equipment upgrades, capital projects, and continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with MSHA, NFPA 70E, NEC, and company safety standards.
• Follow lockout/tagout procedures and other safety protocols.

This role ensures the safe and reliable operation of plant machinery, motors, control systems, instrumentation, and facility electrical systems while maintaining compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements. This role will report to the Electrical Supervisor.**Job Responsibilities*** Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical equipment, machinery, and control systems.* Diagnose and correct electrical failures using testing and diagnostic equipment.* Maintain and repair motors, motor control centers (MCCs), variable frequency drives (VFDs), PLCs, sensors, and instrumentation.* Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on production equipment.* Read and interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.* Install conduit, wiring, panels, switches, and related electrical components.* Support plant production by responding to equipment breakdowns and minimizing downtime.* Assist with equipment upgrades, capital projects, and continuous improvement initiatives.* Ensure compliance with MSHA, NFPA 70E, NEC, and company safety standards.* Follow lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and other safety protocols.* Utilizing Maximo computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)* Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and documentation.* Collaborate with operators, production personnel, and maintenance team members to resolve equipment issues.**Qualifications*** Journeyman Electrician certification or equivalent trade qualification.* High school diploma or GED required.* Minimum 3–5 years of industrial electrical maintenance experience preferred.* Experience with manufacturing, processing, or industrial plant operations preferred.* Experience in implementing electrical safety.* Experience with electrical lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures.* Strong knowledge of AC/DC electrical systems, motors, controls, PLCs, and industrial automation. Knowledge of Allen Bradley AC Drives, ControlLogix PLC, Relay Logic skills is an asset* Proficient in troubleshooting, diagnosing and testing PLC automated circuit, motors and motor control circuits* Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation.* Knowledge of relevant electrical safety codes* Knowledge of various instrumentation sensors and transmitters* Must be able to learn computer-based maintenance software (Maximo knowledge is a plus)* Ability to work with minimal supervision* Ability to lead, guide, and mentor junior electricians* Excellent communication and organizational skills are essential* Ability to manage time effectively while handling multiple jobs with varying priorities* Must be able to work in a team setting with other tradesman* Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.* Rotating shift, holidays, and overtime may be required.* Must wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).* Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.* Ability to work in industrial environments including exposure to dust, noise, heat, and moving equipment.* Ability to climb ladders, work at heights, and enter confined spaces as required.* Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and perform physical tasks throughout the shift**Safety and Compliance**The Electrician Journeyman is expected to comply with all safety policies, regulatory requirements, and company procedures to ensure safe and compliant operations at all times.
