Job Summary

An electrician performs various electrical tasks across assigned locations, including maintenance and installation of equipment used in production and manufacturing. Ability to interpret simple sketches, diagrams, and drawings is required.

Job Responsibilities

1. Perform electrical work and repairs on industrial/mining equipment.
2. Read blueprints and drawings for installation, repair, and maintenance tasks.
3. Install, adjust, and maintain electrical equipment, gauges, and instruments.
4. Troubleshoot and evaluate electrical needs, repairs, and modifications.
5. Ensure repairs meet manufacturer standards.
6. Repair circuits, wiring, motors, starters, controllers, generators, switchboards, and dynamotors.
7. Disassemble, rewind, clean, paint, lubricate, and reassemble motors.
8. Replace points and brushes, and adjust commutators and slip rings.
9. Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

1. Minimum 5 years of electrical maintenance experience.
2. Preferred 3 years in aggregate, cement, or heavy industrial operations.
3. Experience with power distribution up to 4,160 volts.
4. Knowledge of programmable logic controls (PLC) and digital drives.
5. High school diploma required; associate degree or equivalent preferred.
6. Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English; bilingual skills are a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Computer literacy in Word, Excel, PowerPoint; SAP experience is a plus.
• Excellent communication and attention to detail.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to interpret technical manuals, reports, sketches, blueprints, and drawings.
• Experience with motor control circuits and relay logic troubleshooting.
• Ability to prioritize and work independently or as part of a team.
• Good mathematical and mechanical aptitude.

Working Conditions

• Exposure to extreme temperatures, noise, and outdoor environments.
• Mandatory use of protective equipment.
• Availability to work any shift, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Job Progression

• Electrician A: Skills to repair all electrical, analyzers, and instrumentation equipment.
• Electrician B: Skills to repair instrumentation and analyzers, with development toward Electrician A level.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to perform walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, climbing, and controls operation.
• Lift up to 50 pounds occasionally; 20 pounds frequently.
• Communicate effectively and work safely around heavy equipment.
