Job summary

Isleta Resort and Casino is seeking a Journeyman Electrician to install, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair complex electrical wiring and distribution systems. You will promote World Class Guest Service while ensuring safety and compliance with codes.

The role requires six years of relevant experience, NM licensure (EE-98J preferred), and the ability to obtain a gaming license. Expect a full-time, on-site schedule with potential call-out duties.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Six years of relevant work experience as a licensed Journeyman Electrician (EE-98J) required.
  • Must be able to obtain/maintain Gaming License through POIGRA.
  • Pre-employment drug test and background check required.
  • Must have NM driver's license with clean record.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, install, troubleshoot, maintain and repair complex electrical wiring and distribution systems.
  • Read complex wiring diagrams and NEC/codebooks to ensure compliance.
  • Respond to emergencies and safety concerns promptly.
  • Supervise/train Electrician I/II as needed.
  • Complete paperwork, time/travel logs, and SOPs for maintenance work.
  • Drive company vehicle to Isleta Pueblo properties when required.

Position Summary

Responsible for installing, troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing complex electrical wiring, equipment, fixtures, and distribution systems. All while promoting and exhibiting World Class Guest Service to all the Isleta Resort and Casino employees and guests.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities: This list of tasks is illustrative ONLY and is not a comprehensive listing of all functions and tasks performed by positions in this class.   • Familiarization with safety, workplace, education and understanding of OSHA standards, CPR and First Aid.
  • Responds to emergency situations for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns.
  • Plans, installs, does layouts and repairs complex wiring circuits, and distribution systems to applicable codes.
  • Maintains complex electrical and electronic components of varied equipment.
  • Diagnoses and remedies all electrical troubles and apparatus.
  • Works on secondary voltage equipment.
  • Assists in developing estimates from third party contractors.
  • Use all required electrical tools, measuring, and testing equipment.
  • Works from complex wiring diagrams, codebooks, and similar documents
  • Assembles, installs, tests, and maintains electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.
  • Diagnoses malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
  • Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
  • Inspects electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
  • Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.
  • Tests electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
  • Performs daily checks, completes assigned work orders and daily duties per Facility Maintenance SOPs.
  • Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
  • Responds to Security alarm calls as needed.
  • Keeps work area clean and performs housekeeping duties as required.
  • Documents work by completing paperwork on each job, including daily time, progress, and duration in accordance to Facility Maintenance SOPs.
  • Responds to repair/maintenance calls and performs routine security checks, as assigned by supervisor and the Daily Duty Checklist, in accordance with Facilities Maintenance and Resort & Casino SOPs and/or Procedures/Policies.
  • Occasionally, prepares written materials (e.g. scope of work, work orders, bids, equipment inventory, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written support and/or conveying information.
  • Occasionally performs quality control and inspection duties related to the trade.
  • Familiarization with shop practices, operation and use of equipment, hand and power tools, and materials.
  • Familiarization with Blueprint reading, National Electric Code (NEC), , National Fire Protection Association Codes (NEPA), Life Safety Code, and local codes/practices as they pertain to trade.
  • Performs other duties of a similar or related level as necessary or assigned.
  • May be assigned to drive company vehicle on public roads, to and from Isleta Pueblo properties, and/or other destinations, during shift.
Accountability and Supervision
  • May supervise and train Electrician I and Electrician II
Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) equivalent required.
  • Six (6) years’ relevant work experience, as a licensed Journeyman Electrician EE-98J is required.
Special Requirements, Licenses, and Certification
  • Must be able to acquire and maintain Gaming License issued through POIGRA.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug test and background investigation.
  • Must be flexible with work schedule. Must be willing to work any days/hours as needed or required to meet business needs.
  • Must have a valid New Mexico driver’s license with no restrictions as part of the employment requirements. Should not have had a driver’s license revoked or suspended in the last 3 years prior to the date of the Employment Application, acceptability will be determined by Risk Management. Driving records will be checked periodically to ensure continued compliance with this requirement.
  • State of New Mexico issued Electrical Journeyman License (EE98J); a second related Journeyman's License; or Equivalent military experience or Completion of 60 Credit Hours Electrical, preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ability to work alone without supervision as a member of the Maintenance Call-Out team
  • Ability to read and write English; prepare records and reports
  • Ability to operate light and some heavy-duty equipment; to use manual tools; to operate power tools; to keep records; to perform basic arithmetic or complex depending on trade; to measure correctly
  • Possess extensive knowledge of tools, equipment, materials, methods, and practices of assigned trade or job duties.
  • Possess extensive knowledge of State and Federal codes as it pertains to trade
  • Possess good knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions of the trade
  • Must be able to read, interpret, prepare, draft, and maintain all records, documents, prints, blueprints, and as-builts required of the trade.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Must be able to navigate up and down stairs, ladders, crawl spaces, catwalks and uneven surfaces both in and outdoors.
  • Must be able to climb ladders 40 feet in height and work at heights 27 feet from the floor’s surface.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to push and/or pull 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to work in all types of weather conditions particular to this region.
  • Must be able to work in small, confined areas.
  • Work is generally performed in, both, an indoor and outdoor Casino setting with exposure to high noise level. Possible expose to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, toxic chemicals, biohazards, Blood Borne Pathogens, dirt, dust, fumes, and/or unpleasant odors.
  • May involve exposure to potentially dangerous materials and situations that require following extensive safety precautions and may include the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • May occasionally deal with angry or hostile individuals.
