Job summary

The State of South Carolina's Department of Administration is seeking an experienced Electrician II to perform advanced electrical and building maintenance across Admin-owned facilities in the Columbia area. You will lead FM electricians, coordinate work orders, and oversee related maintenance projects while ensuring safety and operational efficiency.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent and at least 5 years of experience with secondary electrical systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 5 years of higher-level experience in installation, repair or maintenance of secondary building electrical systems.
• Experience in installation, repair or maintenance of building systems (General Building Maintenance).
• Must possess a valid Class "D" South Carolina Driver's license.
• Knowledge of electrical regulations and code requirements.
• Ability to learn and enforce safety practices and to organize, prioritize, and complete work.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced electrical and building maintenance tasks to minimize equipment failures.
• Assist with maintenance and renovation tasks of other trades.
• Complete daily work order entries on the SCEIS plant maintenance app.
• Provide excellent customer service and clear communication with supervisors, team members, tenants, and the public.
• Identify, recommend, and request equipment, materials, and training to complete tasks safely and efficiently.
• Perform other duties to support FM's mission and teamwork.
