Job summary

Carpenter Technology Corporation is seeking an Electrician in McBee, South Carolina, dedicated to keeping our facility running effectively, efficiently, and safely. In this role, you will develop maintenance programs, troubleshoot equipment, and ensure proper operations.

The ideal candidate will have a background in Electronics or Electrical Engineering Technology, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and in a team.

ELECTRICIAN — KEEP THE POWER FLOWING

As an Electrician, you’re a hands‑on problem solver dedicated to keeping our facility and equipment running effectively, efficiently and safely. You’re excited to work with a team of manufacturing professionals in a fast‑paced, always‑changing environment. You’re ready to take your career to the next level.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a Preventive Maintenance program to prevent equipment failures. Operate mobile equipment as needed.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and minimize downtime for:
  • Manufacturing and support, electro‑mechanical, and furnace combustion systems
  • Programmable Logic Control, Human Machine Interface systems, and their companion controls
  • Electrical power distribution system, including the facility’s production equipment electrical system
  • AC and DC motors and drive systems
• Read and understand systems drawings.
• Understand the plant lubrication system and the pipe, hydraulic, pumping, and pneumatic systems, and assist Mechanics as needed.
• Test equipment prior to Production Operator use to ensure proper and safe operation.
• Follow safety procedures, including wearing PPE and lockout/tagout procedures.

Qualifications

• Experience in Electronics, Electrical Engineering Technology or a closely related field, or demonstrated equivalent experience required
• Mechatronics Degree preferred
• Able to work in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment — independently or in a team setting
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to prioritize tasks and make decisions preferred
