Job summary

gpac LLC. is seeking an electrical technician to install electrical hardware/software and wire devices according to state and local codes. The role includes start-up of new or modified equipment with developing or updating operating instructions for electrical items.

Qualified candidates have a high school diploma or GED and 2-3 years PLC programming experience, with prior electrical work. Occasional travel to off-site locations is required, and journeyman license is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install electrical hardware or software and wire devices per codes.

• Calibrate and install PLCs and draft ladder logic diagrams to match specifications.
• Keep work areas clean and maintain company tools in good condition.
• Other duties as assigned.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

• - Nothing in this job description restricts management's right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time.
• - Responsible for the installation of electrical hardware or software or the electrical wiring of selected devices in accordance with state and local codes.
• - Responsible for the electrical start-ups of new, used or modified equipment and generate new or modify existing operating instructions as it pertains to electrical items.
• - Aid and assist in the layout design of construction and troubleshooting of electrical components.
• - Perform calibrations on electrical components when needed. Responsible for the programming and installation of PLCs and the drawing of ladder logic diagrams to match such.
• - Keep work areas clean on a daily basis. (all wire, conduit, raceways, etc.) All should be stored in a clean, safe manner.
• - Responsible for company issued tools. (ex: benders, punches, labeler, drills, etc., are to be cleaned and stored when not in use)
• - Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• - High school diploma or GED
• - 2-3 years of experience with PLC programming and ladder logic.
• - Prior electrical experience is required.

Preferred Qualifications

• - Journeyman electrician license is preferred.
• - Strong computer and basic math skills.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands

• - Frequently exposed to high noise levels, strong odors, varying temperatures, electrical hazards, and potentially dangerous equipment.
• - Requires regular travel to off-site locations.
• - Frequently requires walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing, and balancing, with occasional sitting and equipment/computer use.
• - Must be able to communicate effectively and identify potential workplace hazards.
• - Requires the ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
