Job description

Proficient with 3‑phase, 480V, and industrial troubleshooting to assemble, install, test and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand, power, and precision measuring tools. The Maintenance Mechanic / Electrician diagnoses malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem. The Maintenance Mechanic / Electrician is responsible for the connection of wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components and for adhering to all safety regulations with required PPE. This is a first shift position (Mon‑Thu 6 am – 3 pm, Fri 6 am – 12 pm).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Work in a team or independently to complete work orders and provide maintenance/electrical support.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain PLC and variable speed drive controlled high‑speed production equipment and batch processes.
  • Maintain the power distribution of plant equipment.
  • Disassemble, repair, and reassemble equipment using precision measurement tools.
  • Interpret schematics and equipment manuals.
  • Adhere to plant safety and 5S requirements.
  • Complete assigned work efficiently and per Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Lead process improvement and initiate change.
  • Analyze process data and make decisions on equipment maintenance and improvement activities.
  • Perform Preventive Maintenance (PM) and operational inspections to increase equipment reliability and uptime.
  • Comply with all safety standards and regulations (e.g., LOTO, Work Permits).
  • Utilize COGZ to accurately document and track all corrective and preventive maintenance performed throughout the day.
  • Prioritize and self‑schedule maintenance work around production activities to achieve production and maintenance KPIs.
  • Drive warehouse goals and objectives through individually led projects and continuous improvement activities.
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations.
  • Track and analyze automation efficiency measures.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the facility to Red Diamond standards.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or GED required; minimum of two years of electrical and mechanical repair and troubleshooting experience.
  • At least 2 years of industrial electrical programming experience.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Highly motivated, self‑directed, multi‑crafted worker able to work independently in a fast‑paced and loud production environment.
  • Knowledge of safety policies and procedures (lock‑out / tag‑out, high‑voltage electrical, etc.).
  • Highly organized, self‑motivated, results oriented, with ability to manage priorities and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
  • PLC programming preferred; experience with Allen Bradley Control Logix, HMI, Servo Drive programming and troubleshooting preferred.
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems, identify root causes (e.g., six‑sigma analysis), and propose and implement remedies.
  • Ability to perform calibrations, installation, and maintenance of process and analytical instrumentation.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and re‑wire high‑speed and highly automated equipment such as AC/DC motors, VFDs, PLCs, servo motors, and PLC I/O modules.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
  • Strong computer skills; Microsoft Office Excel proficiency and experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems preferred.
  • Experience in computer networking (routers, Ethernet, switches) preferred.
  • Mechanical troubleshooting experience in high‑speed packaging and/or highly automated continuous process environment preferred.
  • Ability to perform mechanical work, valve replacement, conveyor bearing and chain replacement, motor/gearbox replacement, and lubrication routings.
  • Ability to work all shifts (first and second shift) and overtime as necessary.
  • Ability to work in wet, hot, cold, dirty, and fast‑paced environments.
  • Must be able to safely operate a forklift and scissor lift.
