Electrician Apprentice

The Electrician Apprentice will perform tasks related to electrical repair and/or installation of electrical equipment for residential customers. They are responsible for maintaining customer health, safety, and satisfaction. The Electrician Apprentice works under the supervision of the Lead Electrician.

Responsibilities:

1. Learn electrical trade craft from other Lead Electricians, applying NEC code, electrical theory, calculations, and Ohm’s Law in real-life field settings.
2. Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, apparatus, and fixtures while de-energized.
3. Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components using test equipment and hand tools.
4. Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
5. Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components for hazards, defects, and the need for repairs, ensuring code compliance.
6. Test electrical systems and circuits for safety and compatibility.
7. Collaborate with other departments to ensure proper transfer of service work data.
8. Maintain company vehicle cleanliness and organization.

Qualifications:

1. GED or High School Diploma.
2. Indentured in an Electrical Apprenticeship preferred.
3. Basic math and reading comprehension skills.
4. Knowledge of electrical concepts, practices, and codes including NEC, Life Safety Codes, NFPA, and Lighting Systems.
5. Ability to work well with others.
6. Strong communication and customer service skills.
7. Owns appropriate trade tools.
8. Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
9. Ability to pass background check and drug screening.
